Laura Wilson-Lewis

Laura Wilson-Lewis is an associate at Taylor Oballa Murray Leyland LLP. Prior to joining the firm, Laura operated her own law firm where her practice focused on all aspects of the music industry. Since joining the firm, her practice has expanded into film, television, and new media. Laura acts for a wide range of clients, including artists, managers, producers, influencers and content creators, and other copyright owners. In her practice, Laura regularly drafts and negotiates management, recording, licensing, distribution, and publishing agreements, and a variety of other agreements to help clients protect their business interests and intellectual property.

Laura attended Alabama A&M University on a full volleyball scholarship, where she earned her BSc in Physics. She then completed her MSc in Medical Biophysics from Western University and received her JD from Osgoode Hall Law School. Laura was called to the Ontario Bar in 2016.

Laura actively speaks on panels and hosts seminars for various community organizations to support them in making information about the entertainment industries accessible, particularly for new or up-and-coming artists and creators. She was a participant in the inaugural cohort of the Girl Connected Mentorship Program, a professional development program for women within the music industry.
